One such issue is the headset socket that may become detached from the circuit board inside the B3000n causing the headset not to function correctly.
Evaluation of B3000n badges with non-functioning headsets sockets has determined that if significant lateral pressure is applied to a headset jack on a repeated basis the movement will eventually cause the headset socket to detach. The incidence of B3000n badges exhibiting this problem is less than 0.002% of the B3000n badges deployed to date.
The resolution to this problem will require hardware changes to the headset socket and the means by which it is attached to the circuit boards inside the B3000n.
Vocera is not in a position to make a series of small incremental changes in hardware products, but instead groups several items together for a single continual improvement program when there are sufficient items to warrant initiation of the continual improvement program.
Currently no continual improvement program has been initiated.
